The Art of Connection

Hear me out. Something I say causally that holds a deeper meaning, if you choose to see it that way. I’m asking you to put your personal biases and predetermined conclusions aside and listen to another soul that could be similar to yours, be vulnerable, and share their perspective with you. I’m not asking you to agree with everything I’m saying. Frankly, it makes for interesting conversation when someone disagrees with me because it gives me a chance to explore your mind and why you are the way you are- your values, morals, beliefs, and opinions. Exploring those things about people is what helps us connect, and that’s one of the main purposes for our existence: connection. To meet spirits that relate to our own or, the opposite, encountering those may not align with ours. Both are okay and should be expected. However, just because someone isn’t aligned with you doesn’t mean you can’t learn from them.

For a long time, I felt like I didn’t have a voice or that it was often silenced. Whether that came from my peers or my family, the ideas I had or things I wanted to do or found interesting were shut down rather quickly. To cope with the lack of, I took up writing as a way to share the things I didn’t have the confidence to speak about, with someone. After living life a while, a bit of that confidence has been restored and I have found value in my voice. I’m creating this blog to share the different things I’ve done, the things I’ve learned, what I think, what I feel, and maybe explain why I am the way I am. There’s a chance that you could relate to some of my experiences, ideas, and opinions- that’s the connection thing I was talking about before, lol. So, if you’re up to it, stay a while and go through this journey with me. But just so you know, if you stay, that means that you gotta hear me out.
